I'm often drawn to native plants and love the way their forms look in metal. I sometimes create these pieces to stand alone, but often combine them to make larger frameworks that have a contemporary, almost Mondrian feel to them. The seedheads of this plant are 14 gauge copper wired onto steel welding rods. The overlapping shapes brush against each other and sound a little like windchimes.
