Forged steel leaves and body with glass-on-glass mosaic wings fitted into steel architecture. Created in collaboration with local mosaic artist Karyn Turnbull.
The inspiration for this piece came from the giant red dragonflies that appear every year in early summer in Central Texas.
This sculpture can be installed indoors or out. The glass lights up brilliantly when lighted from below, and the entire piece sways in the slightest breeze -- even the breeze from a ceiling fan. The base is sturdy plate steel.
